Saving Money With a Ceiling Fan Heater

Fairly new on the market is the ceiling fan heater. This device works as a traditional ceiling fan in the warm summer months. However, this fan goes one step farther. In the chill of spring and summer this device will let you skip out on turning the heat on because each fan will heat a 20 foot by 20 foot room with 10 foot ceilings. It will also save you heating costs during the winter months.

Ceiling fans save money in the summer time by pushing the air around above the people. This helps keep the room cool. You can also use the fan to pull warm air toward the ceiling. Another great thing that a ceiling fan does is to push cool air from a traditional central cooling system downward. These features allow people to save money on their cooling bills by running their ceiling fans along with their air conditioner.

With a ceiling fan heater it goes even farther then that. The heating element heats the air and sends it downward. This allows the room to stay warmer and more specifically, it allows the warm air to be where the people need it. In spring and fall this is enough to keep the home cozy during the chilly months allowing you to push back the time when the furnace needs to be started and allow you to stop using the heater sooner.

But it goes farther then that because this can be used as a zone heater for many during the winter months, especially if you live somewhere where winter is rather mild. You can heat your rooms one at a time with the ceiling fan heater.

If you need more then zone heating or you have a harsh winter then you can save money by running the ceiling fan heater alongside your traditional heater. This will allow the warm air to be pushed down from the ceiling and used where you need it. You will be able to save money because the ceiling fan is inexpensive to run and will aid your furnace in keeping the house at the ideal temperature.

Additionally a heated ceiling fan doesn’t cost much more then a new ceiling fan. You can get many for around $300, but there are some that can be purchased for a little less then that, which is well worth it when year round savings are considered.
